LOVER BOY is a show about sex. It’s a show about love, desire, the parts of ourselves we don’t publicly share often. It’s about breaking down the stigma surrounding sex and openly celebrating the things that make us feel good. Between consenting adults, there is inherently no wrong way to experience pleasure. Without sex, none of us would exist. This show aims to embrace and explore sex as a natural part of many lives.
Artists featured in this show explore their unique relationships to the broad spectrum of human sexuality. This show is an intimate window into parts of these artists’ lives. It is an opportunity to connect and understand each other on an often sociopolitically rejected point of view. This show aims not to shame away from sex, but to honor it.
I Am Lover Boy, And So Are You.
SHIFT is a group exhibition built from the unexpected. Hosted in downtown Seattle, WA, SHIFT features 17 local and national artists, including a 30 minute performance piece by artist Carolina Marin. SHIFT is built on the unexpected. Works featured in this show are made from recycled materials, found objects, and non-traditional surfaces. In a world already oversaturated with already made objects, SHIFT invites the viewer to question the role of the maker. This exhibition is intended to be viewed through the lens of materiality and transformation. What does it mean to be a maker when thousands of objects are created and discarded every day? What does it mean to create?
Shift your perspective.
